Hello, my name is Brittany and I have a wonderful 4-year-old son who thinks he is 14…. We are currently renting with my parents in Lakeville and are so extremely blessed to have been chosen for this amazing opportunity.
I found out about Habitat for Humanity through my work! I work at a Montessori school here in Northfield, and Dana’s son used to attend the school. So, she wrote an email to my director asking if there was anyone who needed some blessings. I applied and was accepted! I was shocked and honestly am still in disbelief. I keep picturing being able to walk into my home and say, “this is my home!” After 3 years of trying to find a place for my son and I to plant some roots it will finally be a reality.
My son is so excited about getting his own house! He wants to help build so badly. I told him he needed to stay safe and away from all the big equipment. He was pretty upset… but I told him that he could build a birdhouse on the days that I am at the build site, so he is excited to do that.
I want to say a special thank you to Habitat, this nonprofit is making my goals come to life, and to the volunteers…this could not happen without your help and generosity. And to all the companies who have donated things for this to happen. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! You are all in our nightly prayers and have a special place in our hearts, forever!
