I had heard about Habitat throughout the years. I was first encouraged to apply 7 years ago from Carter’s ECE teacher. But it was when I was searching for a house so that Carter would have more independence. I was living in a trailer home but the better part of his life. I had to carry him up many stairs just to get to the front door. And he was getting heavy.
I am currently a part time student for Early Childhood Education and I am also getting paid to care fulltime for Carter. In the near future I plan to specialize in Early Childhood Special Education.
When we found out that we were selected to be a Partner Family, we were in disbelief and very excited. This is the change we had needed for a very long time. Moving into the new house will be a literal back saver for myself. My kids will have more freedom and independence. They will have a forever home. Thanks doesn’t feel like enough. I appreciate everything you do for families like mine.
