We first heard about Habitat through a friend. Although we were not eligible for the program at the time, we have worked very hard on our finances and are eligible now. We currently live in a small trailer with our 5 kids. I am working as a Program Director at Healthy Community Initiative/Growing Up Health and my husband graduated from South Central College in the carpentry program. He will be attending Mankato State University for the Construction Management Program.
We are so excited to be selected as a Partner Family. It will change our way of life completely! We know this home will take a load off of our shoulders and improve our quality of life! When I was told we were selected, I was in disbelief-I had so many emotions at the time and was grateful for the selection. I shared the news once I was home and the kids/husband were very excited. We were not expecting this great news. We knew it was our time.
To the volunteers and donors: you are making such a HUGE impact in our community and more importantly in our lives. The work you do is immeasurable, and we are truly grateful!
