Our family’s journey with Rice County Habitat for Humanity began after hearing about the program from friends, family, Section 8, and a flyer at the Jenni-O Turkey Store. Now, we are so grateful for the chance to build a safe, stable, and healthy home for our family.

Right now, we are living in a house with mold and dirt in the basement, which has caused my kids to be sick far too often. But soon, we will have a home where we can breathe clean air, have space for our family, and finally feel secure. My kids will have a place to do their homework, play soccer, and enjoy the outdoors in a safe neighborhood.

For me, one of the things I’m most excited about is learning how to take care of and fix things in our home. This experience with Habitat isn’t just about having a house—it’s about building skills, confidence, and a brighter future.
