Become a Community Builder

Partnerships 2We’re excited to announce that we’re launching a new program this fall called Community Builders. We will be connecting with local churches and businesses to establish partnerships to build a stronger Habitat for Humanity. Churches will be called Faithbuilder Congregations and businesses with be Builder Businesses.

There are three elements to being a Community Builder:

1. Establish 1-3 people at your church or business who are the “builders” – these people will be our main points of contact.
2. Schedule a volunteer opportunity for your church or business – host a work day, bring a meal to a build site or come up with another way to get involved.
3. Commit to an annual financial contribution to Rice County Habitat – we’ll tailor this step to your budget.

If your church or business is interested in more information about Community Builders, contact Community Engagement Coordinator Megan Proft at or 507.323.5167. Otherwise, you may be hearing from us!

Invite Habitat into Your Congregation

We would love to come and talk with your church or fellowship group about the ministry of Habitat. Executive Director Dayna Norvold is available for forums, temple talks or sermons during worship. Dayna is not a pastor but has worked in Lutheran churches (ELCA) for 15 years as a youth director. Click the following links for sermons/temple talks given:
