How Do I Become a Habitat Home Owner?
We are currently looking for families to apply for our 2012 build season. We don’t know where we’ll build or how many homes we’ll build but we encourage you to call for more information.
These are the primary requirements:
1. Must currently be living in Rice County and have lived in Rice County for one year.
2. Families cannot make more than $36,000/annually. Income from all family members is counted. Need help figuring out your annual income? Click HERE for an excel document. Enter in your information, save it and print it. Include with your application.
3. All household members must be legally documented.
4. Must demonstrate a need for housing.
5. Must demonstrate an ability to pay a mortgage which includes taxes and insurance (generally about $500-$700/month). Utilities are above that amount.
6. You must have a willingness to partner with our program. That includes putting in 350 hours of sweat equity.
